This is a rare instance of an authentic first-generation Tudeshk from the hands of the legendary Grand Master Sadeghi. He was one of the first to establish carpet weaving workshops in Tudeshk and Nain following the sudden demise of the 'abaya trade. His carpets are renowned for their tremendous beauty, all-time classic appeal, and extraordinary finesse. These factors shine across in this magnificent example. The quality of the natural dyes is absolutely majestic, with a brilliant sky blue and an attractive shade of red that would become a signature tone for Tudeshk rugs. FYI the Habibian brothers, who established their own workshops in Nain circa 1960, apprenticed in Salehi's atelier.
I must say this one of the most enriching carpet purchase experiences I ever had. This was not a mere transaction but more an experience about art and history. Dr Maktabi's experience and knowledge in this space is second to none. Highly recommended! R.A., Doha, Qatar
