Carpets bearing his (authentic) signature are extremely important and collectible, marking a turning point in Persian carpet design. This is the mother of all landscape carpets, perfect and immaculate condition. A wide tree lined avenue twists through a forest in front of a regal mansion and on to a domed pavilion at the foot of snowcapped mountains. All under a crisp azure sky. Sheer elegance, utter perfection.
As a carpet collector of 30 years, I have noticed a decline in the amount of truly unique and high quality carpets on the market. I have also noted a decline in the knowledge of merchants, generally.
