A very sweet antique Kurdish rug from the environs of the famed weaving center of Saul Bulagh in northwestern Persia. The tribespeople there are legendary for their superior natural dyes and ultra fine lambswool. These two features are on display here in a handsomely sized carpet with a lattice format and geometric motifs that recall Shahsavan and Kurdish sumakh flatweave saddlebags.
