This Qashqai belongs to the foremost group of Kashkuli clan weavings of the 19th century. They are recognizable by the distinctive ogival form of the medallion, the rather large leafy palmettes, and the lengthy and well worked kilim end finish. Tight knotting and brilliant natural dyes accompany the members of this group.
This piece has earthy tones rather than the dominant reds and blues of the others. It has a more nomadic spirit, visible in the birds π¦ and girls π§ sprinkled here and there.
Collectible and affordable.
