Perfection of harmony & symmetry presented in a mould of beauty, courtesy of the Ahmadi weaving school of Isfahan at the turn of the 20th century.
I donβt usually buy these classical medallion rugs but my clients always deserve the best of the best. This artwork has wool closer to the Manchester Kork of Kashan and Mohtasham than the dryer Isfahan yarn of the early 1900s. The dye materials stand out too: I love the juxtaposition of the sky blue, radiant red and camel hair. The latter is partially oxidised leading to a pleasingly attractive effect.
