This is a very rare carpet made in the village of Al Fakiha in northeast Lebanon. More unusual is that it has survived intact. Even more so that it bears an inscription in Arabic saying "may it be furnished in blissful times". The range of dye materials is wider than most Levantine rugs and includes an alluring purple dye. Bonus features include generous end kilims and extra long tassels.
